(Cincinnati, OH) — The Reds cruise past the Cardinals 5-1 thanks to a big inning. The team trailed 1-0 heading into the bottom of the third until Austin Romine smashed a two-run homer to take the lead. Jake Fraley and Kyle Farmer each drove in a run as the team hung up a four-spot in the inning. Derek Law got the win for Cincy who will go for the series win tonight.

(Cincinnati, OH) — The St. Louis Cardinals had just four hits in a 5-1 loss to the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park. Tommy Edman hit a solo home run to give the Cardinals a brief lead in the third inning, but Dakota Hudson surrendered four runs in the bottom half of the frame and was charged with his seventh loss. St. Louis remains six games ahead of the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central. Jose Quintana starts for the Cardinals against the Reds tonight.

(Cumberland, GA) — The Rockies are handing the Braves a third straight loss after topping Atlanta 3-2 to open their series in Cumberland. Max Fried was tagged with the loss after allowing three runs, two of them earned, over five innings. Eddie Rosario and Dansby Swanson each drove in a run for the Braves.

(Toronto, ON) — The Chicago Cubs gave up three runs in the sixth inning during a 5-3 loss to the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre. Brendon Little was charged with his first loss and first blown save after giving up all three sixth-inning runs in relief. Wilson Contreras and Christopher Morel each went deep in the losing effort.
Cubs manager David Ross says Willson Contreras will be re-evaluated for injury.
