The Christian County Sheriff’s Department is putting out the word that they’re still accepting applications for folks to participate in their third annual Citizen’s Academy.
Speaking with WHOP News, Public Information Officer Chris Miller says there will be six nights of events each Tuesday starting September 13 and running through October 18, and participants will have a chance to learn about the daily activities of the department, from investigations to traffic stops, and even mock court proceedings and trial.
Applications can be found on the Christian County Sheriff’s Office website, along with more information, and those applications must be turned in in-person at the office at 701 West Seventh Street.
Miller says the deadline to apply is September 7, and there will be a class size limit of 24.
Miller says they will hold onto the applications, so that way if a spot opens up from the full class, they can call someone who is interested in participating to fill that spot.
Applications will be accepted on a first-come first-serve basis and applicants must be at least 18 years of age, be a resident of Christian County and undergo a background check.
