>>Kentucky Will Miss Key Offensive Piece Due To Suspension

(Lexington, KY)  — Kentucky Football will miss one of their key pieces on offense due to suspension.  Chris Rodriguez Junior will not be available for the team’s opener against Miami-Ohio this Saturday.  Coach Mark Stoops said the running back will likely serve several games for a D-U-I arrest back in May.  Backup Kavosiey Smoke is expected to fill in while Rodriguez is out.

Danny Evans Scores Lone Goal to Seal Wildcat Victory

LEXINGTON, Ky. – No. 8-ranked Kentucky men’s soccer (2-0-0) continued its strong start to the 2022 campaign with a Monday night win over Seattle University at The Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex. With rain on the horizon, the Wildcats were able to finish 90 minutes of regulation before thunder and lightning entered the area. Fifth-year senior Danny Evans found a golden opportunity midway through the first half scoring the lone goal of the match. Evans was able to send the ball to the crossbar which bounced into the net in the 22nd minute.

Cardinals Roll to 3-0 Win Over Bellarmine

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men’s soccer team tallied its second straight victory to start the 2022 season as the Cardinals downed Bellarmine 3-0 on Monday night at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium. Louisville (2-0-0) has won its first two matches of the season for the first time since 2018. The six goals scored are the most for the Cards through two the first two contests since the 2002 season.

Volleyball Rises to No. 3 Ranking in AVCA Poll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville volleyball team lands at No. 3 in the AVCA Top 25 Coaches Poll after the opening weekend of competition. The No. 3 Cardinals are coming off a stellar weekend in South Dakota with three straight sweeps against Northern Kentucky, South Dakota, and Missouri. 15 of the Cardinals saw the court this weekend. Louisville brought a balanced offense to the court with four players finishing the weekend with 19 kills or better.

Bauer Tabbed with First C-USA Weekly Award

DALLAS, Texas — Following a 3-0 sweep on the first weekend of volleyball, redshirt freshman Callie Bauer collected her first Setter of the Week honor by Conference USA on Monday. The Hudson, Mich. native racked up 108 in three matches, finding a new career best 39 assists in the 3-0 sweep over Bradley Friday evening. Bauer elevated the offense with five kills and tabbed seven points against Miami of Ohio, Friday morning and continued the speed picking up 5.5 points in the Bradley match. WKU is back in Bowling Green for their home opener against in-state rival Louisville.

Seyring’s dozen-kill outing paces Govs in loss to Presbyterian

CLEMSON, S.C. – Another match, another leader for Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team as Tegan Seyring led the way with 12 kills but APSU dropped a four-set decision (23-25, 25-16, 25-15, 25-23) to Presbyterian, Saturday, in its final match at the Big Orange Bash in Jervey Gym.

Trujillo, Thomas first Govs to earn ASUN Football weekly honors

ATLANTA – Austin Peay State University’s football team had a pair of players receive weekly honors from the ASUN Conference with sophomore kicker Maddux Trujillo earning Special Teams Player of the Week and redshirt freshman Kam Thomas nabbing Freshman of the Week, the league announced Monday.

(Memphis, TN)  — Memphis Basketball is welcoming aboard a new transfer.  Damaria Franklin announced yesterday he’ll join the Tigers for this upcoming season.  The six-foot-three, 200-poind guard spent last season at the University of Illinois where he averaged nearly 18-points and seven rebounds per game.
