More evidence to be handed over in Princess Theater fatal shooting case

Proceedings were continued to October in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon for Deovion Day, one of the suspects charged in connection with a shooting at the Princess Theater in November.

Day appeared alongside his attorney, who informed the court they’ve discovered they are missing some evidence in the case and need more time to make sure they have everything, with Judge Andrew Self agreeing to set another pretrial hearing.

It was set for October 5 to give both sides more time to go through the discovery and make sure everything is accounted for.

An arrest warrant says 21-year old Zamarius Humphries pulled a gun on 27-year old Jaquavian Spencer after an event at the Princess Theater in November of 2021 and that Spencer then pulled his own gun and shot Humphries in the neck.

That’s when Day allegedly began firing a gun at Spencer and fatally struck Aniyah Collins, who was in her car attempting to leave. His gunfire also hit 30-year-old Gteria Acree, who was in a parking lot at the corner of East Eighth and Virginia Street, causing injuries.
