Due to a number of industry-related and economic factors, Jennie Stuart Health has announced that their Home Health service line operations will be suspended, starting August 31.
According to a post to the Jennie Stuart Health Facebook page, the suspension of services is due significantly to a nationwide nursing shortage and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Officials plan to bring services back to western Kentucky in 2023, and will spend the next few months evaluating Home Health services and practices, how operational needs and requirements can best be met in a way that the service can thrive and met the needs of patients.
The hospital secured Certificate of Need approval from the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 1987 to serve the Western Kentucky counties of Christian, Trigg and Todd and form a Home Health Agency. In the summer of 1989, the HHA officially opened for service to patients in the region and has been serving the area for over three decades.
There will be updates provided on progress as they become available.
