Area likely to remain hot, dry

It’s going to be another hot and humid week in western Kentucky and there doesn’t appear to be much relief for the ongoing drought in sight.

Meteorologist Derrick Snyder with the National Weather Service in Paducah says while areas closer to the Ohio River received substantial rainfall in the last few days, most counties along the Tennessee border got minimal amounts.

High temperatures could approach 100 Wednesday before a slight cool-down Thursday and then some of the hottest weather of the year moves in over the weekend.

The long-range outlook is trending toward continued hot and dry weather into next month.

There are no threats for severe weather in the current forecast.
