Traffic stop leads to drug trafficking arrest

A traffic stop of a vehicle Thursday evening on Madisonville Road led to an arrest on drug trafficking charges.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle about 6 p.m. and a news release says there was drug paraphernalia in plain view. A K9 was called to the scene and alerted and a search allegedly revealed two bags of marijuana and 10 oxycodone pills.

A passenger, 35-year old Stacey Dillard of Hopkinsville, also admitted to having an ounce of methamphetamine on his person, according to police.

Dillard was arrested and charged with trafficking in meth and trafficking opiates.
