Resolution likely in East 18th Street arson case

A resolution appears to be likely in the arson case against Anthony Taylor, the man accused of setting fire to an East 18th Street home in September of last year, as a continuance was granted in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday morning.

Public defender Eric Bearden requested more time to go over the possible plea deal with his client, and arrange for appropriate housing for Taylor.

Bearden expressed that Taylor is becoming impatient in the length of proceedings, but he’s confident they’ll have the case resolved soon, so Judge John Atkins set a hearing for July 20.

Taylor is charged with first-degree arson.  No one was injured in the fire that caused about $40,000 in damages to the 812 East 18th Street home on September 1.
