Kentucky Senate leadership recently announced the appointment of Senator Whitney Westerfield of Crofton to the newly formed Executive Efficiency Task Force.
It will conduct business through the 2022 Interim Session of the Kentucky General Assembly, according to a news release, and will study the effectiveness of current executive branch cabinet working procedures for administering services to the Commonwealth’s citizens.
Westerfield says, “For all the good that government can do, it has become too big, cumbersome, and inefficient, and this task force is going to look critically at our current cabinet and agency structure and how they deliver essential services to the people who need it the most. This task force will keep our government small, streamlined and efficient, which means cost savings for our residents and businesses alike.”
The task force will report findings to the Legislative Research Commission by Dec. 1, 2022, for referral to the appropriate standing committee with jurisdiction over the policy area.
