A standoff and foot pursuit ended Saturday afternoon in Madisonville with the arrest of a man sought on warrants.
Madisonville police went to a Spence Avenue residence about 3 p.m. to serve two warrants on 20-year old Julian Hutchins and a news release says attempted to hide in an attic space.
Hutchins allegedly made his way through the attic and to an adjoining residence and broke through the ceiling to get inside. That residence was unoccupied and Hutchins continued to refuse to surrender as he broke a bedroom window.
Police say he eventually emerged from the front door with a large knife taken from the home and a taser was utilized to bring a short foot pursuit to an end.
Hutchins was treated at Baptist Health Hospital for minor injuries sustained in the burglary and he was eventually arrested and charged with first-degree burglary, criminal mischief, terroristic threatening, disorderly conduct, resisting police and resisting arrest.
