Strong storms overnight cause power outages, Lake Wind Advisory today

Strong to severe thunderstorms moved across the region overnight, causing several power outages.

The largest was near Cerulean, where Pennyrile Electric reported 803 members out at one time due to a line knocked down by a storm on Princeton Road.

There were still about 100 members in the dark, as of about 5 a.m., with 96 of those in the LBL area of southern Trigg County.

A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Trigg County just before midnight, but there were no immediate reports of any damage or injuries.

A Lake Wind Advisory is in effect from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. today as sustained southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph and gusts up to 35 mph will create hazardous conditions for small craft on area waterways.
