Former Judge Judy Hall running for new family court judge seat

Former Christian County Family Court Judge Judy Hall will run in this year’s election to regain that title, as she’s filed paperwork with the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance indicating she’ll be on the ballot.

Hall became Christian County’s first female judge when former Governor Paul Patton appointed her to the first local family court judge seat that was created in 1998 and she was then elected to serve a full term in 2000.

Hall finished second in a three-person primary election in 2006 and then withdrew from the general election against current Family Court Judge Jason Fleming a couple months before election day.

She says she’s running again because she believes in the mission and value of the family court.

Hall says she has the experience professionally and in her personal life necessary to be effective as a family court judge.

She was happy to see the General Assembly give Christian County a second family court judge position, knowing the caseload justifies it.

Hall is currently opposed by local attorney Katherine Demps and the filing deadline for the nonpartisan race is June 7.
