A contractor will begin asphalt resurfacing activities in Hopkins County on Monday on the Pennyrile Parkway near the 32 mile marker.
According to a news release, the scheduled work is from mile marker 32 to mile marker 34, a distance of about a mile and a half. This work will take approximately two months, depending the weather.
The first leg of this work will entail lane restrictions for the outside lanes, both westbound and eastbound, to allow repairs to be addressed. Once the repairs and surfacing are complete for the outer lanes, work will begin on the inside lanes.
This leg of the work will require a 24-hour closure of the Nortonville ramps for pavement repairs and motorists will be made aware of the closure once a date has been determined.
Motorists should anticipate lane restrictions and reduced speeds while these improvements in Hopkins County are addressed.
