Two people were injured and a third is dead following a shooting and kidnapping incident in Clarksville Saturday night.
According to a news release, officers with the Clarksville Police Department responded to the 500 block of Lafayette Road for reports of a shots fired and upon arrival discovered a male victim with a gunshot wound. Investigation revealed a woman on scene had been forced into a the suspect’s vehicle at gunpoint—officers were able to quickly locate that vehicle and a pursuit began.
The pursuit continued onto Parkway Place where the vehicle came a stop and the female victim jumped from it. She had multiple gunshot wounds, all of which appeared to be non-life threatening.
The suspect was discovered deceased in the vehicle with a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Both victims were flown to a Nashville hospital, where their conditions are currently unknown. Officers believe the incident to be domestic in nature.
