Jennie Stuart Health mourns loss of former President and CEO Terry Peeples

Jennie Stuart Health is mourning the loss of former president and CEO Terry Peeples, who died unexpectedly on Wednesday of last week at the age of 74.

Hospital spokesman Chris Jung says Peeples died with his wife, Sharon, by his side at a hospital in Pensacola, Florida. He had been living in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Peeples served as Jennie Stuart president and CEO from 1995 until 2010, with hospital officials saying he “always made an effort to get to know all his employees and develop personal connections with his staff.”

Current President and CEO Eric Lee says, “Jennie Stuart Health prospered under Terry’s leadership, and our organization enjoyed some of the most successful years in our hospital’s 108 years of history during his time here, growing it into the large community healthcare system that we are today. All of Team Jennie sends its deepest condolences to Sharon and the Peeples Family during this difficult time.”

No formal memorial service is planned for Peeples. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Veterans Assistance Dogs of Texas — an organization that provides trained service dogs to assist the lives of disabled veterans living across Texas.

Memorials can be made by visiting vadogs.org or mailed to 832-C Harper, Kerrville, TX 78028, with “In memory of Terry Peeples” on the memo line.
