Republican Caldwell County Judge-Executive Larry Curling of Princeton has filed his papers run for state Representative in District 8, the seat currently held by Representative Walker Thomas.
Curling is a retired teacher who served four years as magistrate before being elected to one term as judge-executive. He says his experience in local government has given him a good understanding of what communities need from the state.
He says he’d push to be sure Christian, Caldwell and Trigg counties got their fair share of any money designated by the state for broadband internet expansion.
Judge Curling says he’d also work to secure funding for 911 dispatch systems and improvements to roads.
Curling will face Representative Thomas in a Republican primary, with the winner to face Democrat Pam Dossett of Hopkinsville.
