Hopkins County pastor arrested for alleged thefts from center for disabled adults

A Hopkins County pastor has been arrested for allegedly stealing from the Muhlenberg County Opportunity Center that provides services to adults with intellectual and physical disabilities.

A joint investigation by Greenville police and the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office led to the recovery of property stolen from the center and to the arrest of 45-year old Blakely Vaughn of Nortonville, who is a former employee of the facility and pastor of the Oasis Church in Hanson.

Hopkins County deputies executed search warrants and reportedly found a large portion of the stolen items in Vaughn’s home and in his church.

He is also accused of using the Opportunity Center’s credit card to make unauthorized purchases.

Vaughn is charged with third-degree burglary, two counts of felony theft and fraudulent use of a credit card (over $1,000).
