Arraignment held for Oak Grove woman charged with manslaughter

Arraignment was held Wednesday morning in Christian Circuit Court for 49-year old Patricia Conyers of Oak Grove, the woman indicted for manslaughter in connection with the June, 2020 death of her teen daughter.

An indictment for second-degree manslaughter was returned December 17 against Conyers, alleging she caused the death of her daughter by failing to provide her with appropriate medical care and by “failing to do what a reasonable person would do, knowing the child would not get better without a doctor’s care.

Circuit Judge John Atkins accepted a not guilty plea on Conyers’ behalf from defense attorney Rick Sandborn.

Judge Atkins scheduled another pre-trial conference for March 2.

The case was investigated by the Oak Grove Police Department and Conyers remains out on bail.
