CCHD not able to call all positive COVID cases due to surge

The omicron variant of COVID-19 continues to surge in Christian County and across much of the country and local health officials are encouraging people who test positive for the virus to follow CDC protocols.

Cloie Rager with the Christian County Health Department says they are still contacting positive cases who are tested at the health department, but you may not hear from them if you test positive at your own healthcare provider.

That’s why it’s important to notify your own contacts and follow CDC isolation guidelines.

Rager says the Kentucky National Guard is continuing to administer their COVID vaccines and boosters to individuals 12 and up on Tuesdays and Thursdays and the health department administers vaccines to children 5 to 11 on Wednesdays. Appointments can be made on the Christian County Health Department website and walk-ins are also welcome.
