Miller sentenced to 40 years for 2016 Oak Grove murder

Formal sentencing was held Wednesday morning in Christian Circuit Court for 24-year old Leonardo Miller, the man who took a plea deal for his role in the 2016 shooting death of De’Andre Palmer in Oak Grove.

Circuit Judge John Atkins stuck with the conditions of the plea deal, finding Miller guilty of murder, robbery and evidence tampering and sentencing him to 40 years in prison.

His co-defendant, 23-year old Deqavion James of Oak Grove, is set to go to trial on August 22.

The Commonwealth has alleged that on July 16, 2016, that James while armed with handgun, was told by Miller to shoot Palmer when given a nod. When Miler nodded to James, he pulled the trigger and shot Palmer once.  Palmer was then allegedly shot a second time by Miller and Palmer’s body was eventually discarded near Ghost Bridge on Carter Road.
