Elkton traffic stop ends with arrest

A traffic stop in Elkton Saturday night led to the arrest of the driver on gun-enhanced marijuana trafficking charges.

Officer John Webb stopped 20-year old Robert Markham of Elkton for an equipment violation and police say a strong odor of marijuana was coming from his vehicle.

A search allegedly revealed two ounces of marijuana, a loaded AK-47 style pistol, a loaded Glock handgun and $592 in cash.

Markham was arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana—firearm enhanced, possession of drug paraphernalia and traffic offenses.

The Todd County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
