Christmas parade returns to Trenton

After a year off due to the pandemic, the Christmas parade returned to downtown Trenton Saturday evening.

Several area fire departments, Trenton Police and the Todd County Sheriff’s Office, civic organizations, individuals and the Todd County Central High School band helped make the occasion festive as the parade went down Main Street.

Marla Gillespie of Elkton was among the spectators and said it was good to feel some normalcy again this Christmas season.

Her twin sons, Josh and Jake, are seniors in the band at Todd Central and seeing them march was special.

Meanwhile, with a theme of “Bright Lights on a Holiday Night,” Cadiz also brought back its popular nighttime Christmas parade.

Dawson Springs was scheduled to host its parade Sunday, but postponed it until December 12 due to the threat of rain.
