Ky. adds 2,558 COVID cases, 30 deaths

Kentucky added 2,558 new cases of COVID-19 from Monday to Tuesday and the positivity rate continued to rise.

According to the daily update, the positivity rate is now up to 8.31 percent, up from 8.14 the day before. There were 30 newly reported deaths, inching the Commonwealth to another grim milestone with the death toll at 10,934.

There are currently 930 individuals in the hospital with COVID-19, 266 in the ICU and 122 on a ventilator.  On the state incidence rate map, a good chunk of western Kentucky is labelled as ‘orange’, including Christian, Todd, Trigg, Hopkins, Logan, Lyon and Caldwell counties.
