Dedication for new Jeffers’ Bend pavilion to be held Wednesday

A new pavilion will be unveiled and dedicated during a ceremony at Jeffers Bend Environmental Center on Wednesday.

The Pennyrile RC&D Area Council, Inc., along with the Jeffers Bend Steering Committee, Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority, Rogers Group, Inc., and Christian County Fiscal Court, will have a dedication ceremony to celebrate the construction of a new pavilion at Jeffers Bend Environmental Center at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1.

The plan is for numerous future events to take place at the new pavilion, including Take Kids Fishing Day, Naturefest, Christmas at the Bend, Torchlight Tales and other community events.

There will be multiple speakers at the dedication and for more information, contact the Pennyrile RC&D at (270) 885-5600.

Officials with Jeffers’ Bend recently announced that the Christmas at the Bend event will not take place this year, due to ongoing issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.  They are hopeful that next year will look more promising in the way of virus activity and they’ll be able to bring the event back bigger and better than ever.
