Art Guild to present families with memorial portraits of those lost to COVID-19

The Hopkinsville Art Guild will present seven original memorial portraits of a loved ones who died due to COVID-19 over the last year.

The presentation be led by Dr. Elsa Bekkala and will take place Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at 201 E 9th Street in conjunction with the Guild’s Pop-Up Gallery in downtown Hopkinsville. This is located at the intersection of East 9th and Virginia Streets and in the Studio 3’s event center.

Art guild officials and artists appreciate and support the families who shared their stories about their loved one with them and the artists who volunteered to paint portraits for the project. The Art Guild was happy to help with costs involved with the project.

The individuals being memorialized with portraits include Ester Young Butler by Dr. Elsa Bekkala, Louise Buckner by Linda Pierce, Bruce Campbell by Ana Traceski, Thelma Brown by Betty Pierce Liles, Frances Fortner by Jeannie White, Sarah Britt by Jennifer Lea Bowman and Tracy Mark Wymore by Nada Fuqua.
