Christian Fiscal Court moves forward with construction of new road near Bruce Center

Christian Fiscal Court took action Tuesday morning that allows continued progress toward construction of a new roadway near the campus of the Bruce Convention Center.

It will be named Mike Foster Way and will go eight tenths of a mile north to south between Carentan Way and Lovers Lane.

Christian Fiscal Court Magistrate Darrell Gustafson says easements have been obtained and he made the motion to post a surety for about $341,000—which is the estimated total cost of the entire project.

Gustafson and Judge-Executive Steve Tribble each noted the entire project is paid for with grant funding through the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

Magistrates unanimously approved Gustafson’s motion and the project moves forward.

In other action, fiscal court approved a resolution allowing the county to continue as a pass-through agent for state funds that pay for personnel at the Trilogy Center, as described by PADD Associate Director Amy Frogue.

The October Christian County Animal Shelter report shows 361 cats and dogs came in and 304 found homes.
