UHA’s Livi Ray selected for YMCA Youth Advocacy program

University Heights Academy is celebrating after one of their students, sophomore Livi Ray, was chosen to participate in the YMCA Youth Advocate program.

She is one of only 50 students from across the nation to be selected for the program, and she is set to travel to Washington, D.C. in February to meet with federal legislators.

Sponsored by YMCA of the USA’s Government Relations office, this four-month program—which concludes with YMCA National Advocacy Days in Washington, D.C.—creates opportunities for high school students to gain practical, real-world experience advocating for policy solutions that helps address critical social issues in three areas of focus, including youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
