No one injured by gunfire on Treasure Island Court

Hopkinsville police investigated shots fired Wednesday afternoon on Treasure Island Court, where an attempted repossession of a car led to a confrontation.

Captain Kyle Spurlin says officers were dispatched to 100 block of Treasure Island Court for a shots fired call. Investigation determined that a repo man was trying to repossess a car when he and the car owner got into an altercation. The car owner reportedly jumped into his automobile and attempted to leave. That’s when he struck the repo man’s vehicle and hit the repo man’s leg with his car.

At that point several shots were fired into the car owners vehicle, but Spurlin says police are unsure who fired the shots. No one was struck and the repo man left the scene. He took himself to Tenova for medical treatment.

The investigation is ongoing and names of those involved have not been released.
