Fifteen cats and dogs found homes Saturday thanks to the efforts of the Christian County Sheriff’s Office and the five pet adoption agencies who collaborated for the inaugural Paws and Claws event.
Public Information Officer Chris Miller says the agencies and public each responded well.
At least a couple canines attempted to make a run for it early in the morning, but the confines of the sheriff’s office property kept them available to a forever home.
Deputy Miller says he expects the Paws and Claws to be back next year and likely be bigger.
The Christian County Animal Shelter, Christian County Humane Society, Max’s Hope Pet Rescue, Moving Mountains for Mastiffs and Haven 12:10 were the pet agencies that participated.
