Grand jury returns indictments for assault, arson and rape

A Christian County Grand Jury returned numerous indictments Friday, including ones for assault, rape and arson.

An indictment for first-degree assault was returned against 44-year old Hugh Ford of Hopkinsville.

Ford allegedly shot 37-year-old Latrez Bryson of Hopkinsville in the face with a crossbow during an incident September 12 at the intersection of South Vine and Howell Street.

Bryson had to be flown to a Nashville hospital with serious injuries.

The grand jury indicted 50-year old Anthony Wayne Taylor of Hopkinsville for first-degree arson, alleging he set fire to a home at 812 East 18th Street on September 1, causing about $40,000 in damages.

No one was injured in the blaze.

An indictment for two counts of first-degree rape against 35-year old James “Bo” McKinney of Crofton alleges he forced sexual intercourse with two victims under the age of 12 between November of 2019 and September of 2020.

An indictment for first-degree sexual abuse was returned against 37-year old Michael Reeves of Hopkinsville, alleging he forced sexual contact on a minor between May of 2017 and November of 2019.

The grand jury also indicted 54-year old Richard Carl Maule of Crofton, accusing him of making sexual contact with a minor under the age of 12 between January of 2018 and August of this year.
