The South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council has a new Associate Director of Business Retention and Expansion, as Tony Prim steps into that position.
Prim and EDC Executive Director Carter Hendricks appeared on WHOP Friday morning to talk about what’s happening in the EDC, with Hendricks saying Prim will be focused on working with their business partners and determining what they can do to meet their needs.
Prim says he’s excited to get started, as he sees a lot of opportunity and growth in the region.
Hendricks says there’s a lot of change and growth happening all the time, citing the expansions of Metalsa, the grand opening of Novelis in Guthrie taking place next week and continuing construction on the spec building. He says they’ve already gotten inquiries from interested industries into that building.
October is Manufacturing Appreciation Month in the Commonwealth, and Prim says he’s ready to meet with all the industry officials at their appreciation luncheon and develop the relationships needed to really make the region an attractive one where they will want to stay and expand.
