Pink Ribbon Network dedicated to supporting locals battling breast cancer

The Kiwanis Club of Hopkinsville heard from the Pink Ribbon Network at Thursday’s meeting, a local organization dedicated to support those who are battling breast cancer.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Ann Isom with the Pink Ribbon Network says they’re encouraging women—and men—to get screenings to catch any cancer early, which helps increase your chance of beating it. She says unfortunately, every woman is at risk of having breast cancer, and one in eight women will have it in their lifetime.

She says the Pink Ribbon Network is a support group in the community that provides not just emotional support, but they can help with travel, some expenses and food.

Isom says the Network stays operational wholly based on community support, and they are very grateful to have such a generous one.

The Network is accepting of anyone who is battling breast cancer and are willing to try and help them in anyway they can to get the treatment they need to keep fighting the fight against cancer.  For more information on the Pink Ribbon Network, follow their page on Facebook or call (270) 889-4549.
