Local airport board plans to construct three new large hangars

With recent improvements completed, the Hopkinsville-Christian County Airport Board will soon be looking to construct three large hangars.

Magistrate Darrell Gustafson told Christian Fiscal Court Tuesday morning that the runway overlay project has been finished.

He says the proposed construction of three box hangars would allow the local airport to house larger aircraft than it’s currently able to take in.

Meanwhile, Christian County  Judge-Executive Steve Tribble says he resumed officiating a few weddings in the summer when COVID case numbers were down and he’s hopeful to get back to normal with weddings again soon as cases decline again.

In other action, magistrates approved a memorandum of agreement with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to replace culverts on Hammack Road, Old Edwards Mill Road and Shepherd Road.
