A North Carolina man is facing numerous charges following a brief pursuit in Hopkinsville Saturday night.
According to the Hopkinsville police report, a vehicle driven by 43-year-old Jason Brinkley of Durham, North Carolina was heading down the wrong side of the road, weaving around vehicles before striking a curb while trying to turn around at a high rate of speed at the Hopkinsville Police Department. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop at that time but Brinkley allegedly ignored them, continuing to drive down Riverfront Drive.
He allegedly ignored the stop signs at West Seventh and Bethel Street, before ultimately pulling over in the parking lot of the Christian County Justice Center. He reportedly had an odor of alcohol on his person
Brinkley was arrested without incident and charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, reckless driving, DUI, operating on a DUI suspended license and disregarding a traffic device.
