Public library hosting traveling “Telling A People’s Story” panel presentation

The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library will be home to a traveling panel presentation titled “Telling a People’s Story: African American Illustrated Children’s Literature”, throughout the month of October.

According to a news release, the library is one of eight libraries in Kentucky to receive the opportunity for this exhibit. The traveling exhibit, featuring 12 panels with 120 reproduced illustrations, supports the introduction of educational resources and programming opportunities surrounding the contextualization of African-American children’s picture books. The exhibition was designed primarily for use in elementary schools, public libraries and other educational institutions and will be at the public library for viewing until October 29.

HCCPL has planned book displays during the exhibit and a self-guided program that will be available in the library during the month for patrons of all ages.
