The Eighth Annual Todd County Bale Trail is fully underway and three recipients for the “Most Creative” awards have been chosen.
According to a news release, forty-seven residents, business, and organization across Todd County have created and displayed sculptures made of rolls, bales, or loose hay. Todd County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Tiffany Groves says the event has grown tremendously since its inception, when there were only 21 entries.
She says, “We are excited to welcome visitors of all ages to explore the Bale Trail and enjoy this fall family fun event. This is also a perfect social distancing-friendly activity, as visitors can enjoy the displays from inside their cars if they choose.”
The “most creative” award winners were chosen by a panel of four judges in late September 27 and were scored on originality, creative use of materials, attention to detail, and overall impression.
In the category of non-profit was South Todd Elementary School for their sculpture “If You Give A Mouse A Cook-HAY”, for the business category the winner was “Not All HAY-roes Wear Capes” at Hearthstone Place Long Term Care and in the private residence category, the award went to 1925 Shemwell Road for their creation “HAY-ppy Harvest”.
The public is invited to vote on their favorite displays for the “Fan Favorite Award” on the Todd County Chamber of Commerce Facebook page through Oct 31.
