Man accused of pointing gun at woman while not letting her leave

An investigation on West 17th Street Thursday morning led to the arrest of a man who allegedly pointed a handgun at his wife.

ECC received a 911 call about 8:30 a.m. from a woman who said her husband, 31-year-old Travis Bollinger of Hopkinsville, was holding her hostage in a bedroom at gunpoint.

Officers made contact with Bollinger outside and the victim at the home and the victim said Bollinger pointed the gun at her and told her she couldn’t leave unless it was with him.

An arrest citation says the .45 caliber handgun was found in Bollinger’s vehicle and a fully loaded magazine on his person.

He was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, unlawful imprisonment, using restricted ammunition during commission of a felony and possession of marijuana.
