Body found along 41A ID’ed as Ohio man

Officials have identified the body found last Thursday next to Fort Campbell Boulevard.

As previously reported, a work crew found human remains near a billboard in the 11000 block of Fort Campbell Boulevard near Millers Mill Road and Coroner Scott Daniel says fingerprinting determined the man to be 61-year-old Tim Cox of Dayton, Ohio.

No signs of foul play were discovered in the autopsy and it appears Cox died from natural causes.

Daniel says it’s unknown why he was in Hopkinsville, but investigators were able to determine he had also been in Clarksville in the days before. It’s believed his body was at the location where it was found for two to three weeks.

Authorities have not been able to locate a next of kin for Cox.

Daniel says the identification was a joint effort of the coroner’s office, Hopkinsville Police Department and Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
