NBA
It appears NBA players won’t be required to get a COVID vaccine before hitting the hardwood this season. ESPN reports there won’t be a mandate in place as the league and NBPA negotiate COVID-related protocols ahead of the new campaign. The report also notes most players are already fully vaccinated. The NBA does require staff and referees to roll up their sleeves. The new season tips off on October 19th.
NASCAR
NASCAR is making its way out to Southern California next year. It was announced that the season-opening Clash exhibition race will be held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the first race ever to take place at the historic venue. The NASCAR Clash won’t be raced at Daytona Beach for the first time since 1979. Officials are constructing a temporary quarter-mile asphalt track that will used on February 6th, 2022.
