Murray man hurt, charged following single-vehicle crash

A Murray man was taken to the hospital following a single-vehicle crash on Monday on Liberty Road.

According to a news release from the Murray Police Department, the vehicle driven by 58-year-old Robert Strode of Murray was operating at a high rate of speed heading westbound on Liberty Road around 9:30 p.m. He reportedly left the roadway due to his speed, striking both a tree and a mailbox before coming to a stop.

Strode was reportedly not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision—he was transported to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located in Strode’s vehicle, and he was charged with possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.
