Hopkinsville police are investigating an alleged assault from Saturday night on Oak Street.
A 66-year-old man told Hopkinsville police he was struck on the head with a shovel during the incident that happened about 6:30 at a home in the 2000 block of Oak.
Two suspects are named, but have not been arrested, with the report saying they claim they acted in self-defense.
The alleged victim sustained a laceration and other non-life-threatening injuries in the incident.
