Pow Wow kicks off Saturday in Hopkinsville

After last year’s event was canceled by the pandemic, the 2021 Trail of Tears Native American Pow Wow is coming up Saturday and Sunday at the park off East Ninth Street.

Christina Scott with the Trail of Tears Heritage Center says gates open at 10 both days and the first grand entry is at 1 p.m., with veterans to be honored on Patriot’s Day.

As always, the Pow Wow will feature dancers of all ages wearing traditional regalia and they’ll be judged for prizes.

A second grand entry is set for 6 p.m. Saturday.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children, parking is free and complete information can be found on the Trail of Tears Pow Wow Facebook page.

All money raised goes back into maintaining the commemorative park.
