One person was killed and several were injured in a crash late Sunday night on Interstate 69 in Hopkins County.
Investigation by Kentucky State Police determined 21-year-old Horazeon Boyd of Paducah was northbound near the 111-mile-marker at about 11:45 p.m. when he slowed for unknown reasons and he was rear-ended by a van driven by 28-year-old Whitney Gibson of Madisonville.
Both vehicles then exited the road and came to rest in a field.
Boyd and a passenger, Briantavion Haynes, were flown to Saint Vincent Hospital in Evansville. Another passenger, Briana Teague, was taken to a local hospital for injuries.
His left-rear passenger, 18-year-old Destinee Scott of Paducah, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gibson and her two passengers, William Nash and an infant, were taken by EMS to Baptist Health Hospital in Madisonville.
