Unemployment was down from June to July in all nine Pennyrile counties.
Christian County’s jobless rate is 5.4 percent, down from 6.7 percent in June, which equated to 1,329 people who were looking for work and unable to find it.
It was also down from 7.3 percent from one year ago.
Todd County is tied for the fifth-lowest unemployment rate at 3.9 percent, down from 4.7 percent in in June and down from 4.3 percent a year ago.
The jobless rate in Trigg County was 5.1 percent, down from 6 percent the previous month and from 6.1 percent one year ago.
The state average was 4.7 percent and the national number was 5.7 percent.
