PGA Tour’s Northern Trust event scheduled to finish today

Hurricane Henri is starting to have ramifications on the sports world. As the storm makes its way up the Eastern seaboard, it caused a delay in the Northern Trust golf tournament, postponing Sunday’s fourth and final round to today. Louisville area native Justin Thomas begins the final round tied for fourth at 14 under par. Jon Rahm and Australian Cameron Smith are tied for the lead at 16 under. Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker is tied for 50th at five under. PGA Tour officials said they will explore the possibility of extending play into Tuesday, if necessary. However, the next event, the BMW Championship, will begin on Thursday in Owings Mills, Maryland, just outside of Baltimore.
