The United Way of the Pennyrile is gearing up for their annual fundraising campaign, but before that truly gets underway, the Small Businesses Division is kicking off their efforts early.
Co-coordinators Traci Mason and DeAnna Sova appeared on WHOP Thursday and says they’re really trying to do what they can to raise money while understanding it has been a tough year and a half on all businesses due to the pandemic. Sova says this is the first year the small business effort for the United Way has been its own division.
Mason says they’re kicking things off on August 3 at Joelle’s Bakery from 7:30 a.m. until 9 a.m., where there will taste testing of cupcakes and other activities.
She says attendees will be able to purchase cupcakes to raise funds for the United Way, while learning more about the many agencies it supports locally.
For the entire month of August, a portion of all United Way cupcake sales will benefit the 2021 campaign. For pre-orders, call 270-887-0002 and for more information about the United Way and how to donate to the cause, call 270-886-8171.
