Christian County Public School System Superintendent Chris Bentzel is waiting a while longer before committing to any specific pandemic guidelines or recommendations for the upcoming school year.
Bentzel says the district’s COVID Task Force will reconvene next week and discussions will be underway about what to implement as cases surge locally and across Kentucky.
He says there’s still some time to see how the numbers and guidance from the state evolves, but there will be a plan in place in plenty of time.
Jefferson County Public Schools is requiring unvaccinated students and staff to wear face masks while indoors in the upcoming school year and children under the age of 12 are not eligible for the vaccine.
