Todd Fiscal Court hears update on search for new treasurer

Todd Fiscal Court made quick work of a routine agenda Friday morning and the process of hiring a new county treasurer will begin soon.

Treasurer Tammy Robertson announced last month she’ll retire at the end of the year and Friday was the deadline to apply for the job. Judge-Executive Todd Mansfield is establishing a committee to hire Robertson’s replacement and Magistrates Brent Spurlin and Jimmy Turner agreed to serve.

Todd County Emergency Management Director Daniel Smith received approval to apply for grant money he says would be used to install a new outdoor tornado siren near Todd Central High School.

Todd County Clerk Cindy O’Bryan urged residents who have a past due property tax bill to call the county attorney’s office and set up a pay plan to avoid a third-party collection agency getting custody of the bill in the future.
