Cities in Christian, Todd and Trigg set to receive additional COVID-19 relief funding

Multiple cities in western Kentucky, including in Christian, Todd and Trigg counties, are set to receive further funding for COVID-19 relief from the American Rescue Plan.

According to a news release, the $157 million in funding it set to be distributed across 360 non-entitlement cities in the state of Kentucky, and they could start receive their funds within the next week.  The funding is intended to be used to offset expenses related to COVID-19, including the costs of personal protective equipment, vaccination clinics, loss of revenue, payroll and more.

Non-entitlement cities, or cities with populations under 50,000 that did not file for a different distinction with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, were required to submit budget certification forms to DLG.

In Christian County, the City of Crofton is to receive $183,000, the City of Lafayette gained $41,433, Oak Grove will receive $1.8 million and Pembroke will get $230,215.

In Todd County, the City of Elkton will receive $551,323, the City of Guthrie will receive $364,873 and Trenton is set to get $97,110. Over in Trigg County, Cadiz was designated $691,679.

Cities in Hopkins, Muhlenberg, Logan, Lyon, Marshall, Livingston, and surrounding communities are all set to receive additional funding.
