A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans milling and asphalt paving along a section of U.S. 62 in western Lyon County starting Friday.
According to a news release, this work zone along U.S. 62 runs from mile point 0 at the U.S. 62 Cumberland River “Eureka Highway” Bridge near Lake City and goes east to mile point 3.73 near the KY 810 intersection, a distance of 3.73 miles.
The contractor plans milling operations on Friday and Saturday and then hopes to start paving on Monday. The work is expected to take about a week to complete, weather permitting.
Motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers. Some delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment to facilitate the work.
Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
